After 17 days of competition, the Winter Olympics 2014 came to a close in Sochi yesterday. Host nation, Russia finished on top of the medal table while Britain managed to equal their best ever performance with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. This is all impressive stuff but what we’re all talking about is our Winter Olympics Wii Tournament!

Fourteen of our most determined Webbies signed up to compete in a battle of strategy, agility and skill with a Mario & Sonic Winter Olympics game. Each match consisted of players competing in four events; Snowboard Cross, Ski Jump, Curling and Skeleton.

From the first round, the winners of each initial heat and the highest scoring loser have advanced onto the quarter finals. They’ll face new challenges in the form of Figure Skating and Dream Ski Cross.

But who will win? Reigning Wii Champion, Ben was knocked out in the first round so previous runner up Elliot seems to be the hot favourite. Everyone loves an underdog though, so come on Kris, our wildcard entry into the quarter finals!
